CROQUET - Wilts Open GC Tournament report...

On a blustery day the scheduled Wilts Open GC Tournament was curtailed to one day owing to flooding of the lawns on the previous day. There were 16 contestants, including members from Sussex County, Dulwich, Cheltenham, East Dorset and one contestant from Wales.      See full story...

Once again Ivor Nunn has defied all expectations and his age of 90 years in winning the Armada Trophy with his partner Artur da Costa at Hamptworth on Saturday June 6th 2015. This is an annual event organised by the Southern Croquet Federation.      See full story...

CROQUET - Ivor Nunn wins open AC tournament...

The annual B Level Association tournament took place at Hamptworth on a blustery weekend on August 2nd and 3rd 2014. Fourteen competitors took place divided into 3 blocks of 4 each. There were 4 Winchester CC players (Ivor Nunn, Norman Perkins, Artur da Costa and Keith M Ross) and 4 from Hamptworth with others coming from Colchester, Bath and one from Wales.      See full story...

CROQUET - Southern Challenge report...

This year, the Southern Challenge took place at Southwick, just to the west of Brighton over 2 days July 5th and 6th. Winchester CC having won the 2nd Division last year were promoted to the 1st Division this year, where the competition was expected to be particularly severe.      See full story...

CROQUET - Armada Trophy report...

The annual Armada Trophy organised by the Southern Croquet Federation took place at Hamptworth on a blustery day on Sat June 6th. There were 5 teams managed by Chris Roberts of Phyllis Court CC. This is a handicap 14 point AC Doubles event. Each team was to play the other teams in 1 ½ hour matches. Winchester had 2 pairs (Roger Barnacle and Artur da Silva and Keith Mackenzie Ross and Glynis Hassall).      See full story...

Crazy Croquet Day....

On Jan 3rd, the croquet section had its first crazy croquet day. There were 16 players so it was fully subscribed. We played 3 games: 'pirates', 'target' and 'one other'. The events were won by the usual suspects, namely Nigel Hind, Roger Barnacle and Keith M Ross      See full story...

At a B Level Advanced Association croquet tournament (Handicaps from 2 to 8) at Hamptworth over the week-end of September 1st and 2nd, 2 Winchester players, Rita Nunn and Keith M Ross took part in a field of 6 players representing Parkstone, Bowden and Nottingham.      See full story...

Three Tournaments Croquet at Hamptworth....

Winchester CC Secretary Keith M Ross played in 3 consecutive tournaments at Hamptworth. In the first Open Doubles AC with Ivor Nunn on Sat-Sun July 28th and 29th, the pair won just one match out of 5, Richard Dickson and partner won the competition.      See full story...
