Welcome back to the gym at Winchester Racquets & Fitness! We’re so pleased to finally be back and are looking forward to working with you again to help you achieve your goals!
As per Government guidelines, we have put in place a process to keep you and our team safe during your visit to the club. We have introduced a booking system to allow us to control the number of people in the gym and ensure we have adequate time to thoroughly clean down all equipment in-between sessions. Booking is compulsory, you will be denied entry without prior booking.
In order to control numbers and ensure social distancing, the gym is currently operating with the following restrictions
- Bookable 60 minute time slots with a maximum of 8 members using the gym at any time
- The 60 minute slot must be booked in advance (up to 3 days ahead) using our online booking system
- Maximum of one slot can be booked per day (members can overlap onto the following slot if it is not fully booked)
- Mon-Fri first slot 6:30AM, last slot 7:45PM
- Sat-Sun first slot 8:00AM, last slot 4:15PM
This will therefore require your fitness membership to be active so that you can access online bookings with your username and password. Fitness members will also be required to bring their membership card to "swipe in" on arrival.
Fitness members whose membership is not active and/or don't have a card should contact us if they plan to use the gym.
Note that these procedures will be adapted as and when required. Our aim is to provide the best arrangements possible for members to enjoy their workout without compromising on our responsibilities for social distancing and member/staff safety.
To book your session you will need to login to your member account here. If you are unsure of your login details please contact us. Navigate to the 'Activity' tab and select 'Gym'. You will find all sessions here. You can book a maximum of 3 days in advance.
Upon arrival, please check in with your membership card. You will find the check-in point on your right as you come through the side gate towards the terrace. The main door to the clubhouse will remain closed.
We have introduced a ‘warm up zone’ on the grass area beside the patio, next to Grass Court 1. You can use this space to go through a body-weight warm up if you wish. You do not have to use this but it’s a good way to make sure you get the most out of your allocated slot in the gym. Please wait in this area until your instructor comes down to collect you at your arranged session time.
During your session, please ensure that you clean down any kit you use immediately after you have finished using it. In order to maintain correct social distancing, we will have certain pieces of equipment out of use each day.
Programme cards have now been removed from the gym floor, if you wish to keep your old programme card, please let the instructor know and we will be happy to get it for you to take home. As everyone has had a considerable amount of time away from their usual workout routine, we have put together a 4 week kick-starter programme for you to introduce you back into the gym safely and effectively. If you would like a new personal programme, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a telephone consultation with a member of the team who will put this together for you.
Whether you have managed to keep on top of your fitness at home or not, our 4 week Kick-Starting Programme will help ease you back into working out in the gym again. Remember, if you need any help with any of the exercises or perhaps need some small adaptations please be sure to ask the team for help!
