Welcome to our new tennis coaching apprentice Alex Fyfe. Alex aged 18, joins us on this new exciting apprenticeship scheme that is supported by the LTA.
The Apprenticeship Programme is designed for young people who wish to pursue a full time professional career in tennis coaching
This 2 year programme is delivered through a government accredited apprentice scheme and is supported by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) – the National Governing Body for British Tennis.
This is an excellent opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’. During the programme Alex will have the opportunity to embark on a Level 2 Coaching Apprenticeship and on completion of the initial programme he may have a further opportunity to progress to a Level 3 qualification.
This is an excellent opportunity for people aged between 16 and 24 to gain employment whilst training for nationally recognised qualification.
The Programme will introduce Alex to a variety of skills, including tennis coaching, organising competitions, organising social events, producing marketing material, attending committee meetings and other areas of coaching and developing a coaching programme. He will also experience work in other areas of the club gaining knowledge and skills in wider sports club operations and administration. All of these areas of responsibility will be supported through on the job training and one to one assessments with a qualified assessor.
