Quorn Family Cup winners...
Well done to Peter and Joe Jenkinson who won the club stage of the Quorn Family Cup. The event is a doubles format played on a mini red tennis court with sponge balls.
The Quorn Family Tennis Cup held the first Sunday of half term week here at the Club was a new experience for all of those playing and for the organiser Alison as well. The adult had to be over 18 and the young person 10&U. It provided the families who took part with the opportunity to play tennis in an informal fun competition. Quorn provided prizes for the winners and certificates for all who took part.
Alison who was assisted brilliantly by Adam Greenwood reported that “this was a chance for families to have fun and play as a team. Everyone was a good sport and looked as if they enjoyed the afternoon”.
All the families taking part really enjoyed the event and Peter and Joe, as winners of the Club event, now have the opportunity to play at Eastbourne in the pre Wimbledon grass court tournament.
As it proved to be so enjoyable, we hope to get more families trying this out. So watch out for details of another family doubles event - we aim to have one on Club finals day on July 4th and may try and schedule one for a Friday evening soon.
