Jo Burnaby retires from Croquet Committee...

Jo Burnaby retired from the Croquet Subcommittee after serving as committee member and 'golf croquet' captain for 19 years and as former chairman for 3 years. The committee presented her with a cutglass bowl and thanked her for her services.      See full story...

New Floodlights now in operation...

The new floodlights on courts 4567 are now in operation. So if you fancy a hit later in the evening, you now have 10 courts available to play on. This should make it better in the summer for members who aren't able to get on court till slightly later in the evening.      See full story...

New Floodlights Installation gets underway....

The installation of floodlights on courts 4567 will get underway next week starting Monday 30 January. The initial phase of works will take around two weeks and will mean that two courts will not be available at any one time over that fortnight (note that weekends will be unaffected).      See full story...

Winchester 6th go equal top of league..... Despite losing a tight match 3-2 away at Nuffield Health, our 6th team captained by Allan Hawkey reached equal top by picking up 10 points and restricting their opponents to 16 points.      See full story...

Winchester compete in Centenary Club's event at Roehampton...

In 1996 8 tennis clubs with a history of more than 100 years got together to form the Association of Centenary Tennis Clubs (CTC). The founder clubs were all European but there has been a steady growth in number and geographical location of member clubs. About 18 months ago, we were invited to get together with 5 other British clubs – The Cumberland, Queens’, Roehampton, Edgbaston Priory from England and Fitzwilliam + Carrickmines from Ireland, to activate the involvement of British Centenary clubs.      See full story...
